The Molly Brown House Museum offers histories of Denver (+ Colorado), the unsinkable” Titanic, and an inspirational local and national political leader. It turns out that Margaret received a highly coveted education all the way up to the old age of thriteen, in those days that was usually a privelage reserved for the wealthy, which Molly Brown knew nothing about at this point in life. The house has been restored by Historic Denver, an organization that came together to save the building from a wrecking ball in 1970.

The Molly Brown House Museum preserves the home of the RMS Titanic's most famous survivor, The Unsinkable” Molly Brown. The directors of Historic Denver are doing this site a disservice by calling it a museum. The Molly Brown House Museum will celebrate the Denver icon's 150th birthday with a block party that pays homage to her philanthropy.

In real life, Brown is credited with keeping people's spirits up in the lifeboat until they were rescued by another ship, the Carpathia. Ironically it was the silver crash which had forced them to sell it. JJ bought it for thirty thousand dollars, and it became Maggie Brown's home for the rest of her life.

Sadly it seems that for Margaret Brown as for so many other historical figures, a simple story is preferable to a complicated truth. This was a well devised tour and offered many interesting insights into life and times in Denver in the early 1900's. This antique-filled Victorian house was the home of Molly Brown, not only a famous survivor of the Titanic, but so much more.
